Carowinds Carolina Cyclone Krazy Straw
When the Carolina Cyclone originally debuted at Carowinds in March 1980, it was the first roller coaster in the world with four inversions. Equipped with a new harness restraint system and new paint job, the Carolina Cyclone is still a fan-favorite.
After boarding, riders begin the climb up this coaster’s 95-foot lift hill. After the first drop, they immediately race through two tall 360-degree vertical loops. This maneuver is followed by two 360-degree barrel rolls that send riders spiraling above the midway. Finally, a 450-degree uphill helix finishes this Cyclone’s journey across the midway, and sends riders back to the station. In total, riders go upside down four times and reach speeds up to 41 mph. WHAT A RUSH!
