A once record-breaking roller coaster, Mantis was Cedar Point's only stand-up roller coaster. Opening in 1996, the ride featured a 119-foot tall vertical loop, diving loop, and the first ever inclined loop. Trains on Mantis travel up 145 feet in the air, before being dropped back down to earth 137 feet at 60 miles per hour. Mantis held many records for stand up roller coasters when it opened, including fastest and tallest stand up roller coaster, and the steepest drop and most inversions in a stand up coaster. It closed in 2014.
